Red Belly Ratings delivered a profit for members on Wednesday’s Canterbury meeting, after playing it tight with just two bets.
Members backed Countryman ($4.20 rated a $3 chance), while our other selection in race 7 – New Divide – which members were instructed to back at $11 on Tuesday night, ran a nice race to finish third.
The new race analysis on our ratings spreadsheet had this to say about both runners:
Countryman – went way too fast up on speed resuming and that gave it none, but it was still there at the end.
Goes well second up and with scratchings and pace taken out of the race, it’s the one that gets a beautiful sit off the weakfish Kanjistar, and that’s prime territory in this race.
New Divide – Looks to box seat here and the figure we have on it last prep are franked and put it in this race as a serious contender.
Had a bit on at $11 pre-scratchings and given it’s resuming I say it will get back out again in the market. Going to average in on this throughout the day, without panicking.
In the other race members were advised to bet into, our main selection Britaila Kate, was narrowly beaten into third (a half neck by a short neck).
