Boom filly Earthquake has continued her path towards next month’s $1 million Group 1 Blue Diamond at Caulfield, with a strong trial at Cranbourne.
The 2-year-old was nosed out by More Radiant in the 800m trial in the time of 46.3 seconds, with trainer Peter Snowden more than happy with the performance.
Snowden told Racing Victoria Earthquake was fresh and ‘’excited by the moment’’. The unbeaten filly will return to the track on February 8th in the Blue Diamond Prelude at Caulfield.
Earthquake was replaced as Blue Diamond favourite by Gerald Ryan’s heavily-hyped colt Rubick, who bolted in on debut at Randwick last Saturday.
Rubick is a $3.20 favourite for Victoria’s premier 2-year-old race, with Earthquake the second elect at $4.60 with TAB Fixed Odds.
