Sydney’s leading jockey James McDonald has been forced to forego rides at Warwick Farm on Wednesday, and Gosford on Thursday, after injuring his knee during trackwork.
The Kiwi rider has strained a ligament in his knee, but remains hopeful he’ll be fit for Saturday’s Doomben Cup meeting.
McDonald will ride Foreteller for Chris Waller in the Group 1 Doomben Cup, a horse that caught the eye of Red Belly form expert Ed Kennett when finishing 4th in the Holindale Cup on the Gold Coast.
Foreteller is currently a $10 chance with www.tab.com.au
McDonald will also ride Knoydart for the Godolphin stable, which is an $18 chance in the BTC Cup over 1200m.
