Red Belly Ratings delivered another winning Saturday for members at Rosehill, with two winners from three bets.
The winners were:
• Hallowed Crown ($7.50 rated a $5.50 chance)
• Georgey Aeroplane ($5.50 rated $4.20)
In the other race we bet into (race 7), our selections – Bonfire and He’s Your Man – finished second and third respectively.
Our form expert Ed Kennett labeled Hallowed Crown as his bet of the day, on his regular radio spot on ‘The Big Breakfast’ in Perth on Friday.
Ed’s confidence was reflected in the comment he made about Hallowed Crown in his detailed race overview:
Has shown us signs of things that suggest it’s not just above average, but way way above. Handled the Heavy real easily when it won at Randwick last prep as a 2 year old.
Generally we like to see them return at 3 yrs old and then get a look at them to see if they are back, but in the case of this one, it was running around not so far back in (April) and the 2 x trials showed us everything we wanted to see.
For those not familiar, this one defeated Washington Heights + Klammer in the Kindergarten on Heavy and start prior was a winner putting away Countryman. It is value here comfortably and surprisingly.
Backing these types at good, near double-figure odds = certain long-term success.
With the spring carnival about to fire up in earnest, there will be plenty more opportunities for our members to back quality thoroughbreds at value prices.
